so here we are.

so here we are. I'm a month into my new job & my new apartment, and things are complicated. do I wish I had more money? yes. do I wish I wasn't so stressed out all the time? yes. there are a lot of things that I wish I could change or wish that I had figured out or wish that I had better prepared myself for. but overall, I just keep trying to tell myself: you are working in new york city, the place you have been in love with since pretty much forever. you have an amazingly cute apartment in an amazingly cute city (hoboken, NJ) with 2 great girls. you have an awesome job, doing something you are passionate about around people who are equally as passionate about it. so, now more than ever, it's important for me to think of all the little things that make me happy on a daily basis. so below is a small compilation of stuff around me that is making me thankful these days:

1. this guy.

2. putting christmas decorations up in my apartment.

3. pretty lattes.

4. getting to face time my parents & watch them get photo bombed by Rupert.

5. and it's cheesy, but getting to walk past this building each and every day.

I still love you, new york.

you are good at things.

When perusing my blog list via bloglovin, (if you haven't signed up you need to!) I became inspired to write this post due to one of the countless bloggers I admire (check her out here). Her post was about a new book coming out entitled "you are good at things: a checklist" by Andy Selsberg. This book forces you to think about the everyday simple things that you are truly good at. And this can mean absolutely anything! For example, maybe you're really good at predicting the weather, or what time it is without looking at some sort of clock. I have the uncanny ability to remember numbers, I am awful at math, but memorizing numbers? No problem. Birthdays (my friend Lisa and I share this ability), phone numbers, anything you can think of, I'll remember it. It may take me a few tries to remember, but I will get there.

The reason I was inspired by this so much is because I think it is very, very easy to get bogged down with day-to-day things. Maybe you've felt stressed at work or school and you get down on yourself (at least I do); I think this is a nice reminder of the many things you are awesome at and what make you, you. And come on, we all like to have the re-assurance that we're good at things. :)
