new york city bucket list

since I have been living in Hoboken / working in NYC for 2 months now, it's about time that I made a bucket list! below are the things that I want to do, yes most of them are very touristy, but so what? I'm excited to try and knock them all off, add more along the way, and of course, document it all along the way. :)

                                                                    highline park
walk around chelsea & go to chelsea market
                                                                  go to ellis island
empire state building (have been once, but want to go again!)
                                                        spend the day in williamsburg
                                                             go to the brooklyn flea
                                                                       park slope
spend a day in central park
spend an afternoon in washington square park
spend an afternoon at the beer garden
walk the brooklyn bridge
go to the metropolitan museum of art
go to coney island for a day
bronx zoo
go to a game at yankee stadium
experience a ranger game at the flying puck
south street seaport
go to the body exhibit
go on the brooklyn brewery tour
go to the top of Rockefeller Center

am I missing anything?

so here we are.

so here we are. I'm a month into my new job & my new apartment, and things are complicated. do I wish I had more money? yes. do I wish I wasn't so stressed out all the time? yes. there are a lot of things that I wish I could change or wish that I had figured out or wish that I had better prepared myself for. but overall, I just keep trying to tell myself: you are working in new york city, the place you have been in love with since pretty much forever. you have an amazingly cute apartment in an amazingly cute city (hoboken, NJ) with 2 great girls. you have an awesome job, doing something you are passionate about around people who are equally as passionate about it. so, now more than ever, it's important for me to think of all the little things that make me happy on a daily basis. so below is a small compilation of stuff around me that is making me thankful these days:

1. this guy.

2. putting christmas decorations up in my apartment.

3. pretty lattes.

4. getting to face time my parents & watch them get photo bombed by Rupert.

5. and it's cheesy, but getting to walk past this building each and every day.

I still love you, new york.

new york, I love you

I took a trip up to NYC this weekend, which isn't a completely rare thing for me to do, but I realized something - I never actually get to enjoy the city. Usually I come up on a Friday or Saturday, go out on the town with my friends & then head home the next day; it's always such a whirlwind. This time around, I did things a little differently. I came up on a Saturday and instead of rushing myself, stayed through Monday and I must say, it was a fantastic decision. On Sunday, Little Italy was having the San Gennaro festival so the tiny street was packed with people and vendors & wonderful Italian food. I had an amazing lunch of homemade gnocchi along with some homemade sangria as well.

To top it off we had a to-die-for cannoli & cappuccino while wandering around the city for the rest of the day. We ended up near South Street Seaport, where I had never been, so needless to say, it was a pretty amazing way to spend a Sunday.
